QUEEN OF THE DAWN : A Love Tale of Old Egypt
Doubleday, Page and Company published the first edition in book-form in New York on March 27, 1925. McKay and Scott both agree on the New York publication date, and claim that 7,500 copies comprise the first printing. There are no illustrations, nor ads at the end of the book.
Whatmore claims that Hutchinson and Company published the first edition in London on April 8, 1925, whereas McKay and Scott claim the date was April 21, 1925. Whatmore is correct, for I own a copy that was signed by HRH on April 8, 1925. Apparently, 10,000 copies were printed, without illustrations, with ads at the end of the book dated Spring 1925.
Higgins claims that Hutchinson paid ÂŁ300 ($25,000 in 2020 dollars) for the serial rights (no serialization was undertaken), and ÂŁ700 ($60,000 in 2020 dollars) was advanced for publication in book-form.
The Ryerson Press published the first edition in Canada, likely also in 1925.
Grosset and Dunlap reprinted this title in America.
I do not own any of the books pictured below, unless noted. I do own copies of both the British and American first editions.

This DJ is very rare and mine is missing the back panel and flap

My copy of the British first edition was signed by HRH "To Mrs. Pitt"Â
Notice, HRH signed it on the day of publication, 5 weeks before he passed away, on May 14, 1925

More likely a 3rd printing than a 3rd edition; not in my collection
