Blues Aloes: Stories of South Africa

Four short stories were all serialized in magazines separately:

    1. ROSANNE OZANNE:
      • April, May 1915 in Cosmopolitan; may also have been serialized in Nash's and Pall Mall Magazine October and November 1915
    2. THE LEOPARD:
      • July and August 1916 in Cosmopolitan; may also have been serialized in Nash's and Pall Mall Magazine July and August 1916
    3. BLUE ALOES:
      • August, September, and October 1917 in Cosmopolitan; may also have been serialized in Nash's and Pall Mall Magazine February, March and April 1918
    4. APRIL FOLLY:
      • August, September, and October 1918 in Cosmopolitan; may also have been serialized in Nash's and Pall Mall Magazine January, February, and March 1919

All four stories were collected and published by Putnam in New York in 1919.

The DJ for the Putnam edition is extremely rare, and I only own a 5th printing with an incomplete torn DJ.

Hutchinson published these four stories in two separate books. An edition titled APRIL FOLLY contains APRIL FOLLY and ROSANNE OZANNE. An edition titled BLUE ALOES contains BLUE ALOES and THE LEOPARD.

The Hutchinson BLUE ALOES and APRIL FOLLY are extremely rare. I own the APRIL FOLLY edition with an original DJ, and the BLUE ALOES edition with an incomplete and torn DJ.
