In his preface dated 24th July, 1928, Fitzpatrick writes, ‘This little booklet contains matter now printed for the first time. It is printed solely for record and for personal reasons, and is not intended for publication or for circulation other than among friends to whom the explanation is due. I was free to publish it and at one time intended to do so, provided that such publication would not be harmful instead of helpful to the cause of unity and goodwill in our country.’
